Not every git carries a spear. The Sneaky Snufflers creep at the edges of the horde with their snufflesquigs — waddling, big-nosed beasts bred to smell out the rarest and most potent fungi wherever the Bad Moon's light has touched the soil. What they harvest is not food. It is ammunition.
Fed in fistfuls to a mob before the charge, the Snufflers' crop turns ordinary cowardly grots into shrieking berserkers for exactly as long as the dose lasts. The Snufflers themselves are part farmer, part priest and part poisoner, and their arrival at a warcamp is greeted like a festival — though every git knows the difference between a glorious frenzy and a mob chewing its own shields is one mushroom, and the Snufflers only sometimes remember which.
