The Khinerai Lifetakers are the aerial hunters of the murder-cult, aelf-women blessed with the leathery wings of the harpy who descend upon the battlefield like a storm of blades. Where their Heartrender sisters loose javelins from on high, the Lifetakers close to kill, plunging from the clouds to drive barbed spears into their prey before beating their wings and rising once more, out of reach of any counterblow.
They favour the swift, brutal ambush, striking commanders and war-engines that believe themselves safe behind the line. Among the Daughters of Khaine they embody the cult's love of the sudden, ecstatic kill, and they fight with a fervour bordering on rapture, for to spill blood in Khaine's name is to them the highest act of worship. A flight of Lifetakers can gut an enemy's leadership in a single dive and be gone before the bodies fall, leaving a host leaderless and reeling. To their victims they are a shadow passing across the sun, glimpsed too late, and the last sound many hear is the beat of wings and the laughter of aelves who kill for joy.
