Avatar of Khaine

A towering iron effigy of the murder-god that wakes to bloody life when anointed, striking with the wrath of Khaine made manifest.

The Avatar of Khaine is a graven idol of the war-god, a towering effigy of blackened iron wrought in the image of Khaine himself, cold and lifeless until the cult's priestesses anoint it with sacred blood and wake the divine fury sleeping within. When it stirs, molten fire kindles behind its eyes and its metal limbs move with the ponderous, unstoppable strength of a god's wrath given form.

Borne to war beside the Cauldron of Blood or striding forward on its own, the Avatar strikes with a blazing blade that shears through armour and flesh alike, and the closer the faithful gather to it, the fiercer its animation burns. Among the Daughters of Khaine it is the holiest of relics and the most terrible of weapons, proof upon the battlefield that their god is real and hungers as they hunger. To the enemy it is a nightmare of living metal, an unfeeling colossus that cannot be reasoned with or turned aside, wading through their ranks and reaping them like wheat. Where the Avatar walks, Khaine walks, and the blood offered to it is never enough to sate its endless thirst.
