Among the Einhyr, the veteran elite who form a Kindred's Hearthguard, the Champion stands foremost. These are warriors of long service and proven worth, entrusted to lead the heaviest infantry the Leagues field and to break the enemy where the fighting is fiercest. An Einhyr Champion will often take command of every Hearthguard formation present within an Oathband, setting the pace of the assault and anchoring it by sheer martial example.
The Champion's wargear is built for a single purpose: to close the distance and shatter whatever waits at the end of it. Their suit of exo-armour is modified with a mass driver accelerator, a system that flings their considerable armoured weight forward in short, brutal surges of speed, letting them cross open ground and slam home before a foe can react. Paired with a weighty RAM shield and a fearsome array of close-combat weapons, this transforms the Champion into something very like a living battering ram.
In the press of melee an Einhyr Champion is a grim and methodical killer. They do not seek duels for glory's sake, for a Kin warrior wastes nothing, least of all effort, but drive relentlessly toward the target that matters most, trusting their armour to weather the blows that fall upon them and their strength to end the exchange quickly. Where the Champion leads, the Hearthguard follow, and the two together form the hammer with which an Oathband cracks open the strongest defences.
