Founded in the earliest days of Kin settlement, the Greater Thurian League is regarded by many of its peers as the wellspring of Kin civilisation itself. Its holds are ancient beyond reckoning, carved into worlds the Kin have worked since before the Imperium was a dream, and its Votann rank among the eldest and most venerated of all the ancestor-cores.
Thurian society is marked by a deep conservatism. Where younger, hungrier Leagues prospect recklessly at the galaxy's edge, the Thurians move deliberately, consulting their Ancestors on matters that other Leagues would settle in an afternoon. This caution can appear as arrogance to outsiders and even to fellow Kin, but it reflects a genuine sense of custodianship, a belief that the Greater Thurian League holds the truest inheritance of the race and must not squander it.
In war, Thurian Oathbands fight with disciplined, methodical precision, their warriors equipped from the finest of the League's ancient forges. They are slow to anger and slower still to forgive, and an enemy who earns a Thurian grievance may find the debt pursued with patient, generational determination long after the original offence has been forgotten by all but the Votann.
