The Biophagus is the mad genius of a Genestealer Cult, a hybrid who serves as its physician, its geneticist and its poisoner all at once. Its abiding obsession is the Genestealer Curse itself, and it labours ceaselessly in hidden laboratories to refine, spread and adapt the brood's alien taint, forever seeking more efficient ways to bind new hosts and new worlds into the cult's expanding bloodline.
Such work demands cover, and the Biophagus finds it with ease. Posing as an Officio Medicae specialist, a distillery chemist or a factory overseer, it embeds itself in positions of quiet authority and runs its unholy experiments upon an unsuspecting populace, testing its concoctions upon the very people it is trusted to heal. Behind the respectable mask lies a scientist for whom every patient is a subject and every dose a step toward the cult's ascendancy.
In battle its arts turn openly to murder. With injector goads it can flood Aberrants and other favoured warriors with surging mutagenic strength, driving them to greater feats of destruction, while a single jab against an enemy delivers a cocktail that dissolves flesh from within. Add to this the vials of bio-acid it hurls into the foe, and the Biophagus reveals itself as a walking arsenal of biological warfare, as deadly to an army as it is to a world.
