The Benefictus is a rare and gifted psyker of the Genestealer Cults, a hybrid whose mind is unusually attuned to the swelling gestalt consciousness of the broodmind. Where common cultists merely feel the Patriarch's presence as instinct and dream, the Benefictus can grasp and shape it, drawing on the shared psychic will of the entire brood to work potent powers upon the battlefield.
Through this connection it can bolster the faithful with unnatural resilience, curse the enemy with dread and misfortune, or lash out with raw psychic force. Its very existence is a sign of a brood grown large and dangerous, for such psykers only emerge when the collective mind has reached a critical, teeming maturity. Cherished and protected by the cult, the Benefictus fights as a conduit of the broodmind's will, a living proof that the infection has spread deep enough to bend the immaterium itself. To the Imperium, its appearance is a grim warning that a world is already far more lost than the authorities dare admit.
