The Star Dragon is the mightiest creature the High Elves can bring to war — an ancient dragon of Caledor, so old that it has slept for centuries beneath the mountains, its slumber deepening as the fire of the world slowly cools. In ages past the dragon princes rode such beasts in their thousands; now only a handful can be roused, and it takes a prince of the noblest blood, and a cause of the direst need, to wake one from its long dreaming. When one does rise, it is a living force of destruction: a colossus of scale and sinew whose claws rend armour like parchment, whose jaws swallow warriors whole, and whose breath washes the enemy in dragonfire. Beneath wings vast enough to darken the field, it bears its elven rider into the very heart of the foe, and few things in the world can stand against so terrible a union of ancient beast and peerless warrior. To see a Star Dragon descend upon the battlefield is to witness the elder age of the world, wrathful and undimmed, returning for one more reckoning.
