The Ellyrian Reavers are the light horsemen of Ellyrion, the great plains-realm of Ulthuan whose people are born to the saddle and count their finest steeds as kin. Riding the swiftest horses in the world, the Reavers range far ahead of the elven host as scouts and outriders, their loyalty to the open grasslands matched only by their skill in the running fight. Each carries both bow and spear, and they wield them with equal grace at a full gallop, loosing arrows into the enemy's flank one moment and wheeling to lance a broken foe the next. They do not stand and trade blows; theirs is a war of speed and misdirection, striking from an unexpected quarter, dissolving away before the enemy can bring force to bear, and returning to strike again where least expected. Free-spirited and proud, the Reavers chafe at slow, grinding warfare and delight in the swift raid and the sudden ambush. For an enemy commander, they are a maddening, ever-present threat that no battle-line can quite pin down.
