The Sisters of Avelorn are the warrior-handmaidens of the Everqueen, drawn from the sacred groves of Avelorn to serve as the personal guard and honour-escort of Ulthuan's living goddess-queen. Fierce, beautiful, and utterly devoted, they are among the finest archers in a race of matchless bowmen, but their true power lies in their arrows, which they kindle with the sacred flame of Isha, mother-goddess of the elves. Wreathed in holy fire, their shafts sear through armour and flesh alike and burn with especial fury against the daemonic, the undead, and the corrupt — the enemies of life against which the Sisters were first raised. They fight with a grace that belies their lethality, loosing volley after blazing volley, and they will die to the last before they permit harm to come to the Everqueen or the sacred land she embodies. To face the Sisters of Avelorn is to see the wrath of the elven gods made manifest in a rain of holy fire, and the things that hate life most have the most to fear from it.
