Clan Eshin is the knife in the dark of Skaven politics, a clan of assassins, spies, and saboteurs whose services every other clan needs and none can trust. Its agents learned their arts far to the east, in the shadow of Cathay and the isles beyond, and returned to the Under-Empire with disciplines of stealth and murder no western creature could match. From that dark scholarship Eshin built an empire not of territory but of information and death: it knows everyone's secrets, sells everyone's secrets, and will cut any throat for the right weight of warpstone — including, on occasion, the throat of the client who paid for the last killing.
The clan fields Night Runners and the deadlier Gutter Runners, who slip through enemy lines to poison wells, fire granaries, and open gates from within, and above them the Assassins, master killers who train from birth in the thousand ways of ending a life. All answer to the Nightlord who rules Eshin from the shadows and hires its blades out across Skavendom with careful, profitable impartiality. In the wars of the ratmen, Clan Eshin is the reason no warlord sleeps soundly and no victory is ever entirely safe.
