The Screaming Bell is a great cracked bell of warp-forged bronze, hauled to war upon a massive wheeled carriage by teams of straining slaves and crowned by a shrieking Grey Seer who tolls it to work his dark will. Each toll of the Bell sends a maddening peal rolling across the battlefield, a sound that lifts the skaven into a frenzy of courage and cruelty while filling their enemies with gnawing dread. Stranger and more terrible effects follow the ringing, too — bolts of green lightning, tremors in the earth, and the fickle attention of the Horned Rat himself, whose favour and spite are equally likely to answer the summons. The Bell is a holy relic of the Under-Empire, and to ride one into battle is the highest honour a Grey Seer can claim. Around it the clanrat hordes surge with redoubled fury, driven on by the ceaseless, skull-splitting clangour.
