Plague Monks are the frenzied faithful of Clan Pestilens, disease-worshippers who charge into battle as an act of religious ecstasy. Wrapped in filthy rags and clutching rusted, contagion-slick blades, they see their own festering wounds as marks of favour from the Horned Rat and pain as a form of prayer. They feel little of it in any case, half-mad with zeal and warp-fume, and they press forward heedless of injury so long as they can share their sacred sickness with one more enemy before they fall.
Massed in shrieking, capering hordes, the Plague Monks hurl themselves at the foe with reckless abandon, their sheer fanatical momentum carrying them over obstacles that would halt more sensible troops. They bear censers of corroded metal that trail clouds of killing spores, and where they fight the very air turns poisonous. To face a charge of Plague Monks is to be assaulted by disease and devotion at once, and to learn that killing them only scatters their contagion further.
