The Branchwraith is a noble spirit of the Sylvaneth, taller and prouder than the Dryads she commands and possessed of a fey, imperious beauty. She is a conduit for the life-magic of Ghyran, and her greatest gift is the power to draw upon the lifebloom, coaxing fresh Dryads to burst forth from the soil to replenish the ranks even as battle rages. In this way a Branchwraith ensures that the forest's host is never truly diminished, its numbers renewed as swiftly as the enemy can cut them down. She leads the Dryad throngs with cold authority, and in combat lashes out with a piercing talon and thorn-wracked limbs. Yet for all her grace, the Branchwraith is a creature of the wild wood, prone to sudden savagery and long, brooding grudges against those who would burn or fell her kin. To the outland races she seems a figure from a dark fable, lovely and lethal, a queen of thorns who answers every axe laid to the forest with a hundred new claws.
