The Warp Lightning Cannon is one of Clan Skryre's proudest and most lethal creations, a wheeled engine that channels the raw, unstable energy of refined warpstone into a searing lance of green lightning. When it fires, a bolt of crackling warp-energy leaps across the battlefield to strike its target with apocalyptic force, boiling armoured knights in their plate, blasting monsters from their feet and gouging smoking craters through massed infantry. The engineers of the Skaven who crew it treat the machine with a mixture of avarice and outright terror, for the same warpstone core that makes it so devastating is forever one miscalculation away from overloading. When that happens the cannon does not simply fail — it detonates in a green flash that vaporises crew, engine and anything unlucky enough to be standing nearby. Skryre warlords consider such losses an acceptable, even routine cost, and field the cannons in batteries regardless. For the enemy, there is little comfort in knowing the weapon might destroy itself; more often, it destroys them first.
