Stormfiends are the monstrous masterwork of an unholy collaboration between Clan Moulder and Clan Skryre, rat ogres surgically bonded with heavy warpstone weaponry until beast and machine are one shuddering whole. The largest and strongest of the Skaven war-beasts are chosen for the honour, their forelimbs replaced with warpfire projectors, ratling cannons, grinderfists or crackling warp-lightning gauntlets, and a diminutive skaven operator riveted to their backs to aim the guns the brute is too stupid to work itself. The result is a squad of walking artillery pieces, plodding forward behind a curtain of warp-fire and shredding metal that can gut a battle-line before the enemy closes. Where they do close, grinderfists and monstrous jaws finish the work. Stormfiends are unstable, agonised and prone to the same warpstone catastrophes that plague all skaven engineering, but a pack of them in full cry is among the most destructive things the Under-Empire can field — living proof that skaven cruelty and skaven cunning are most terrible when combined.
