The Mortisan Boneshaper is a sculptor of soldiers, one of the artisan-priests whose craft underpins every Ossiarch legion. Where mortal smiths work iron, the Boneshaper works bone, and where they labour in forges, he labours on the battlefield itself. With a gesture and a murmured rite he draws raw material from the fallen — friend and foe alike — and shapes it into fresh constructs or fuses splintered Mortek back into fighting order, so that a phalanx worn thin at dawn stands whole again by noon. His mastery renders attrition meaningless: every casualty the enemy inflicts is merely raw stock for the next repair. In the courts of the Ossiarch Bonereapers the Boneshapers hold high honour, for without their hands there would be no legions at all. On the field they move behind the front ranks, calm and unhurried, mending the empire's soldiery faster than any foe can break it.
