The Scinari Cathallar carries one of the strangest and most sacrificial burdens in all the aelementiri: she takes the despair, doubt, and grief of those around her into her own heart, so that her kin may fight on unclouded by the weight of their emotions. What she gathers she does not merely endure; she wields it, hurling accumulated anguish across the battlefield to crush the will of the enemy and leave them hollow and unresisting.
This is a lonely and consuming duty, for a Cathallar becomes a vessel of every sorrow her people cannot afford to feel. Among the Lumineth Realm-Lords she is both healer and weapon, mending the spirit of the phalanx while shattering that of the foe. She can even recall the souls of the freshly slain, drawing them back before they scatter, so that a fallen mage might rise to cast again. Serene and grief-worn in equal measure, the Scinari Cathallar walks the battle-line as a living reliquary of pain, spending herself so that the aelementiri may face the horrors of the realms with clear and untroubled minds.
