A Legion Seeker Squad was a formation of chosen marksmen and trackers, and in the hands of the Eighth Legion it became something worse than a mere kill-team. Where other Legions used their Seekers to hunt priority targets on the field, the Night Lords used them to hunt names, stalking a world's commanders, its heroes, and its most beloved defenders, and slaying them in ways calculated to be found. Armed with specialised bolts and the patience of true predators, they moved ahead of the terror to mark their quarry, and struck when a single unanswered shot would do the most to unmake an enemy's nerve. The Eighth understood that a garrison which watched its leaders picked off one by one in the dark was already halfway broken. In the Heresy the Seekers of the Night Haunter's Legion turned this art upon the loyalist commanders who dared stand against the Warmaster's advance.
