The Legion Javelin Attack Speeder was a fast anti-grav gunship of a kind the Eighth Legion adored, swift enough to strike from the darkness and vanish before any answer could form. It came in low and screaming, loosing missiles and heavy fire into a column's flank, and was already banking away into the night while the wreckage still burned. The Night Lords crewed their Javelins with pilots who prized the ambush above the honest fight, using the speeders to harry an enemy's edges, cut his supply lines, and keep a whole army sleepless with the certainty that death might fall from the dark at any hour. It was terror made mobile, a weapon that wounded the mind as surely as the body. Through the treacheries of the Heresy the Javelins of the Eighth prowled the skies above besieged worlds, turning every road and every night into a killing ground.
