Sheng was a captain of the Eighth Legion, one of the many company commanders through whom Konrad Curze's doctrine of terror was carried across the warzones of the age. Like all who rose to command among the Night Lords, he had mastered not only war but the darker craft that set his Legion apart, the art of breaking an enemy's spirit before ever breaking its line.
He led his warriors in the manner the Eighth had perfected, from ambush and shadow, striking where fear had already done half the work and turning each engagement into a lesson meant for every survivor. There was little of glory in the way Sheng fought and less of mercy, only the cold efficiency of a commander who understood that a terrified enemy was already a defeated one.
Through the treacheries of the Heresy, Sheng served as the Legion served, as a purveyor of dread loosed upon the Imperium that had once claimed the Night Lords as its own. He was a small, sharp instrument of a Legion whose every act was calculated to make the living fear the dark.
