The Legion Tactical Squad formed the dependable core of the Thousand Sons' order of battle, and even here, in the Legion's rank and file, the Fifteenth's singular character showed through. These were disciplined riflemen, drilled in bolter and blade like the line troops of any Legion, yet a great many carried at least a flicker of the psychic gift that defined their gene-line, lending their volleys an uncanny accuracy and their advances an unsettling coordination. They fought with the patience of scholars, reading a battlefield as they might read a difficult text, and committing to violence only when the shape of victory had made itself plain. As the Legion's numbers were never great, each Tactical Squad was a precious resource, husbanded with care. When the Space Wolves came to Prospero, it was these line warriors who died in the greatest numbers, holding Tizca's streets so their cabals might fight on.
