Castellax-Achea Battle-automata

The Horus Heresy

War-automata bound to the Legion by psychic mindlock, their armoured hulls mounting the arcane weaponry of Tizca's secret arsenals.

The Castellax-Achea Battle-automata were a pattern of war-robot unique to the Thousand Sons, forged in the hidden manufactories of Tizca and bound to their masters by more than mere cortex programming. Through a psychic mindlock, the Legion's sorcerers could impose their will directly upon the automata, granting these engines a discipline and responsiveness far beyond the lurching brutality of standard battle-robots. Each Castellax-Achea bore arcane armaments developed in Prospero's secret arsenals, weapons as much the product of aetheric study as of conventional artifice. In battle they advanced as tireless armoured guardians, extensions of the Legion's collective will made manifest in adamantium and fire. That so much of the Fifteenth's genius had been poured even into its machines only deepened the tragedy of Prospero's fall, when these silent servants fought and were destroyed defending a city of knowledge from the flames.
