The Kharybdis Assault Claw was a massive boarding and drop craft of the Legiones Astartes, far larger than the Dreadclaw upon which its design was based, capable of carrying an entire assault force of Space Marines into the fiercest fighting. Bristling with storm launchers and driven by five great drive-claws, it descended from orbit or crossed the void between warships to slam into its target and unleash its transhuman cargo.
Designed for the most brutal spearhead assaults, the Kharybdis could smash through a voidship's hull or plunge through a planet's atmosphere, weathering tremendous fire during its approach. Once landed, its passengers erupted forth to seize objectives and butcher the defenders before they could organise a coherent response.
Like the Dreadclaw, the Kharybdis was notorious for its temperamental and increasingly malevolent machine spirit. It was favoured by aggressive and traitor Legions alike; the Sons of Horus employed it as a hammer-blow of orbital assault, while the World Eaters used it to deliver their berserkers straight into the slaughter they craved.
