The Witchseekers were the cleansing fire of the Sisterhood, cadres who carried flame into the places sorcery had corrupted and burned the taint from the world. Where a coven gathered in the dark, where a shrine to the warp festered, where the witch hid among the innocent, the Witchseekers came with flamers and a merciless certainty, and left only ash behind. Fire was reckoned the surest purifier of the immaterial's touch, and the Sisters wielded it without hesitation and without remorse.
Their work demanded a particular hardness, for the Witchseekers often walked among populations already turning to the enemy, unable to know for certain who was tainted and who merely afraid. They trusted their own blank instincts and their duty above all pleas, and the wisdom of the Sisterhood held that a cleansing carried too far was a lesser sin than a corruption left to spread. In the Heresy, as whole worlds slid into worship of the Ruinous Powers, the Witchseekers burned through cult and coven alike, buying the loyal Imperium time with pyres that lit the night. To a Witchseeker, mercy withheld today was a hundred lives spared tomorrow, and the cleansing flame never once asked forgiveness for the work it did.
