Blessed Weapon

Sigmarite Warhammer

Forged from storm-blessed sigmarite and quickened by the lightning of Azyr, the warhammer is the thunderous emblem and birthright of Sigmar's Stormcast Eternals.

When Sigmar drew the bravest souls of the Mortal Realms up into the heavens to be remade, he armed them with weapons as unyielding as their new purpose. Chief among these is the Sigmarite Warhammer, a two-handed maul of gleaming sigmarite that has become the defining emblem of the Stormcast Eternals. To look upon it is to see the God-King's own symbol rendered in war-metal, the hammer that shattered the tyranny of a lost age and now hammers ceaselessly at the gates of Chaos.

Sigmarite is no ordinary alloy. Mined from the celestial reaches of the heavens and worked in forges lit by captured lightning, it holds an edge and a heft that no mortal smith could hope to match. A warhammer wrought from it can crumple a Chaos champion's plate like wet parchment and shatter the bone beneath, and the shock of its impact carries a peal of thunder that rolls down the length of the battle-line. Many are graven with sacred sigils along the haft, so that each blow falls as both a physical strike and a benediction against the Dark Gods.

Yet the warhammer's truest power lies in the warrior who wields it. Every Stormcast has passed through the Reforging, dying and being remade upon the God-King's anvil, and something of that ordeal is echoed in the weapon they carry. When a Liberator brings his hammer down, it is with the certainty of one who has already given his life for Sigmar's cause and will do so again without hesitation. In the front rank of a Stormhost, a wall of these hammers rising and falling in grim unison is a sight to break the courage of all but the most fearless foe.
