Where a single Aethershot Rifle spits a measured pair of rounds, the Aethermatic Volley Gun simply does not stop. This whirring engine of destruction, favoured by the Endrinriggers and the elite marines of the Kharadron Overlords, mounts a cluster of rotating barrels fed by a churning aether-gold reservoir, so that its bearer can lay down a torrent of shot that scythes across an entire enemy formation.
The weapon is a triumph of Kharadron endrineering, but a demanding one. Its rotating mechanism must be tended and greased with obsessive care, and the constant draw upon its aether-charge means the gun runs hot enough to scorch the hands of a careless crewman. Those who master it, though, become the anchor of a sky-fleet's boarding action, hosing the decks of an enemy vessel clear before their comrades leap across to claim the prize.
The very sound of the volley gun is a weapon in itself. Its rising mechanical shriek, building to a roar as the barrels reach full spin, has broken the nerve of many a foe before a single round finds its mark. Kharadron commanders position these guns to command the killing ground, and when the order to fire is given, the air fills with a blizzard of metal that leaves nothing standing in its path.
