Bladegheist Revenants

Spirits of those who died trapped and terrified — whirling forever in the panic of their final moments, they are the fastest and most frantic killers in the processions.

Bladegheist Revenants died badly even by the standards of the damned: sealed in burning towers, drowned in the flooding holds of foundering ships, buried alive when the mine came down. Theirs were deaths of thrashing, clawing panic — and Nagash, ever exact, denies them stillness. Each revenant replays its final terror without end, spinning and flailing through eternity as though escape were still one desperate lunge away.

The processions have weaponized that panic. Armed with tomb-greatblades and loosed at the enemy, Bladegheists become whirlwinds of shrieking steel, striking with the strength of the drowning and the speed of pure terror. They are the shock troops of the Nighthaunt, herded to the killing point by Knights of Shrouds and released like a held breath. In the instant after a kill, witnesses say, each revenant goes still — one heartbeat of the rest it died reaching for. Then the spinning begins again.
