The Auric Runesmiter is a priest of the magmic mysteries, a duardin who has learned to commune with the molten heart of the realms and coax it to his will. Where the Fyreslayers go to war, a Runesmiter walks among the ranks, striking the ritual runes upon his warriors' bodies so that their ur-gold blazes hotter and their courage burns higher. His greatest art is the invocation of the magma-pool: with chanted prayer and a strike of his latch-key, he opens a searing tunnel through solid rock, and an entire company of Fyreslayers surges up from the earth amid the foe, wreathed in smoke and cinders. In close combat he wields a runic iron and forge-key, and the salamander familiar coiled about his shoulders spits liquid fire at any who draw near. To face the Runesmiter is to learn that for the mountain-folk, even the ground itself is merely another road to war.
