The Auric Runemaster stands as the high priest of a Fyreslayer lodge, the keeper of its forge-mysteries and the arbiter of where its precious ur-gold shall be struck. It is he who reads the omens in cooling metal and glowing coals, dividing the shards of Grimnir among the warriors most worthy to bear them. In the magmahold's central forge the Runemaster labours over the sacred anvil, and the runes he hammers into duardin flesh carry a potency few others can match. Marching to battle with the Fyreslayers, he brandishes a master rune borne upon a great forge-staff, its light a beacon that steels the hearts of every fyrd. With a word he can cause the ur-gold in his kinsmen to flare white-hot, filling them with the wrath of the shattered god. Priests defer to him, kings heed him, and the enemies of the lodge learn to dread the toll of his hammer.
