Once a cradle of civilisation during the Age of Myth, it was scorched and shattered during the Age of Chaos, leaving a patchwork of blasted deserts, volcanic wastes and defiant free settlements.
Across the Great Parch lie the ruined empires of old and the reclaimed strongholds of the new age, including Hammerhal Aqsha, greatest of Sigmar's twin-city bastions. Its regions, such as the Flamescar Plateau, have seen relentless fighting between the forces of Order and the ever-encroaching hordes of Chaos who covet the realm's furious energies.
