The Ghyrwood is a vast and ancient forest realm within Ghyran, the Realm of Life, a living expanse of colossal trees, tangled thickets and primal wilderness that seethes with untamed vitality. Beneath its canopy the boundaries between the material world and the spirit-song of the sylvaneth grow thin, and the forest itself seems to watch and judge those who trespass beneath its boughs.
At the heart of this domain lies Ghyrwood March, a frontier realm-state where mortal settlers cling to fortified holdfasts, striking uneasy pacts with the tree-spirits to survive amid the encroaching wild. The forest gives freely of its bounty to those it favours and swallows whole those it does not, its moods shifting with the great cycle of seasons that governs all of Ghyran.
The Ghyrwood is sacred ground to the Sylvaneth, whose wyldwoods and glades entwine with its depths, while the folk of the Cities of Sigmar labour to broker peace with its ancient guardians.
