Rotigus, called the Rainfather, is a Great Unclean One in whom the twin faces of Nurgle's worship — decay and fecundity — are made one. Where his brethren are avatars of despair or contagion, Rotigus is generosity given monstrous form, a mountain of rotting flesh who trudges the Mortal Realms scattering the Grandfather's bounty upon all who would receive it, and upon all who would not.
Over his vast bulk hangs Nurgle's Deluge, an endless warm rain thick with teeming life that follows him wherever he treads. It drowns arid plains beneath stinking quagmires and swells rivers into bile-choked floods, yet in that same corruption lies renewal, for barren earth touched by the Rainfather's storm quickens with new and terrible growth. On dying lands where the beasts had grown sterile, his passing set them breeding once more — though what crawled forth was seldom fit to look upon.
Into battle Rotigus bears the Gnarlrod, a staff that rots and regrows from seed even as he wields it, forever budding fouler diseases. With it he calls down deluges to sweep away the foe and coaxes gnarlmaws from the poisoned ground, planting the seeds of Nurgle's Garden in the ruin of all he touches. He is as much a force of grim creation as of destruction.
