Morbidex Twiceborn

Morbidex Twiceborn earned his name at death's door and past it. Struck down by a plague that should have killed him, he instead rose changed — swollen, blessed, and beloved of the Grandfather's smallest children — and has been dying and not-dying ever since, so riddled with rot that no wound can find anything left in him to kill.

He rides to war upon Tripletongue, a colossal maggoth whose three lashing tongues pluck riders from their saddles and drag them into a gullet like an open grave. But it is the Nurglings that mark Morbidex out. The giggling, big-eyed little daemons swarm in his wake in their thousands, tumbling from his mount's flanks and his own rotting flesh, and he dotes upon them as a shepherd dotes upon his flock. Where Morbidex rides, the Nurglings grow bolder and more numerous, and he in turn fights all the harder to defend them.

There is a strange tenderness to the Twiceborn, a rotted good humour that makes him the merriest of the Maggoth Lords. He wages his wars like a doting father taking the children out to play, and pities any foe unlucky enough to spoil the outing.
