No Legion understood the science of the siege as intimately as the VII, and the Legion Vindicator was among the surest tools in Rogal Dorn's formidable arsenal. Built around a single enormous demolisher cannon, the Vindicator hurled siege shells heavy enough to collapse a bastion wall or gut a fortified strongpoint, opening the breaches through which the Imperial Fists' disciplined infantry would advance. Where the Salamanders wielded such tanks with mournful restraint, the sons of Dorn brought a cold engineer's precision to their use, calculating angles of fire and structural weak points with the same rigour they applied to raising their own impregnable defences. To an Imperial Fist, a fortress was a problem to be solved, and the Vindicator was often the solution's blunt final step. Its thunderous report, echoing across the shattered ramparts of a hundred sieges, became the sound of a wall's inevitable fall before the Emperor's most stubborn Legion.
