The Legion Land Raider Proteus served the Imperial Fists as an armoured spearpoint for the breach assault, a near-impregnable transport that could carry their veterans through the deadliest ground a siege could offer. When a wall had fallen and the killing gap yawned open, the VII drove their Proteus tanks straight into it, trusting the Legion's legendary armour and their own iron discipline to see the assault squad within delivered intact to the fortress's beating heart. Its explorator augury mapped the defences ahead, letting the crew steer toward the objective with the methodical certainty that marked all of Rogal Dorn's warfare. The Imperial Fists left nothing to chance in a siege, and the Proteus was a calculated instrument as much as a battering ram, chosen and positioned to break a specific defence at a specific hour. Behind its adamantine prow rode the warriors who would decide the storming, and few defenders could halt its grinding advance.
