A Legion Tactical Squad of the White Scars fought with the same restless spirit that drove the Legion's famed riders, never content to hold a line when an opening beckoned. Even on foot the sons of Chogoris pressed forward in quick, aggressive rushes, closing the distance to bring bolter and blade to bear before an enemy could settle into its defence.
These squads were the connective tissue of the Fifth's way of war, seizing and holding the ground the swifter brotherhoods opened, then abandoning it just as readily when the hunt moved on. Sergeants were trained to think for themselves, to read the shifting shape of a battle and commit without waiting on distant orders. In the war against the traitors this initiative proved priceless, letting scattered White Scars forces fight as one even when isolated and cut off from their primarch's guiding hand.
