The Firewing Enigmatus are the First Legion's hunters of secrets and slayers of kings, an inner cadre whose purpose is spoken of only in fragments even within the Legion itself. Where the Dreadwing brings extinction and the Deathwing brings endurance, the Firewing brings the precise and surgical death of an enemy's leadership, striking at warlords, oracles, and champions whose fall will unravel an entire host.
Inducted through rites the rank and file never witness, these legionaries are as much interrogators and executioners as warriors, tasked with recovering knowledge the Legion deems too dangerous to leave in enemy hands. In the wars of the Heresy their work was quiet and terrible: a command staff found slaughtered in a sealed bunker, a traitor lord's flagship gone dark, a fortress that surrendered because the will to resist had simply vanished overnight. Few ever saw them come, and fewer still lived to describe them.
