The Dark Angels wielded these tanks with a grim, ceremonial patience, advancing in measured line abreast beneath the banners of their orders while enemy fire rang uselessly from frontal armour thick as a keep's gate. Calibanite crews adorned each hull with warding sigils and the names of foes yet to be judged, for the Vindicator's work was as much sentence as siege. Behind its blast-shield the Dark Angels closed to the range where their doctrine turned massacre into art, and the demolisher's thunder became the tolling of a bell over the condemned. It was a weapon of few subtleties, and the First Legion asked none of it save certainty.
