The Legion Vindicator was a weapon of pure, remorseless destruction, and the Death Guard wielded it with the patient brutality that marked their every campaign. Built around a massive demolisher cannon, it hurled siege shells that flattened defences and shattered whatever sheltered behind them, clearing the way for the XIV's implacable infantry to advance. The sons of Barbarus had no love of swift, elegant victories; they preferred to grind an enemy down piece by piece until nothing remained to resist them, and the Vindicator was that philosophy rendered in armour and high explosive. It rolled forward at a deliberate, unhurried pace, absorbing the enemy's fire without flinching and answering each rampart with a detonation that turned rockcrete to dust. To the Death Guard, a siege was simply attrition given walls, a contest of endurance they were supremely built to win, and the Vindicator's dull, methodical roar was the sound of that grinding certainty closing upon a doomed defender.
