The Legion Deredeo Dreadnought gave the Death Guard a tireless engine of destruction perfectly suited to their war of relentless pressure. Interring a fallen veteran within a rare and archaic frame, the Deredeo brought batteries of autocannon, hellfire missiles, or plasma to bear, laying down a grinding, methodical barrage that wore an enemy down exactly as the XIV preferred to fight. Where other Legions might use such a machine for a sudden decisive blow, the sons of Barbarus valued it for endurance, a sentinel that never tired and never yielded, holding contested ground and pounding the foe hour upon hour until his strength simply gave out. Its interred ancient shared the Legion's grim patience, indifferent to counterfire as it methodically dismantled whatever the enemy raised against it. In the attritional battles the Death Guard made their trademark, the Deredeo was the anvil upon which a foe's assaults were slowly, inexorably broken to pieces.
