It is not a building or a council but a psychic web, spun outward from the ancient Patriarch at the cult's heart to every member of its swelling brood. Through it, the Genestealer Cults move as one organism while appearing, to the outside world, to be nothing more than a downtrodden underclass.
The broodmind is layered like the generations that form it. Closest to the Patriarch stands the Magus, a psyker who translates the brood's animal certainty into cunning and doctrine, and around him the primus and iconwards who marshal the faithful for war. Below them spreads the great mass of hybrids and human converts, each bound to the cult from the moment of infection, each convinced with total sincerity that they act of their own free will. There is no dissent within the broodmind, for dissent would require a self that the cult has quietly replaced.
The purpose of all this hidden coordination is patience made monstrous. A broodmind burrows into the machinery of a world across decades, seeding its own into mines, congregations, and militias, until it can seize an entire planet in a single coordinated uprising. It works constantly to evade the notice of the Inquisition, whose agents know that a cult discovered too late has already won.
Yet the cult's fervent salvation is a lie told by something far larger. The rapturous unity of the broodmind is a lure cast into the void, its psychic cry a beacon that summons a Tyranid hive fleet to the world it has so lovingly prepared. When the great devourer arrives, the faithful rush to greet their gods, and are consumed with all the rest. The broodmind's triumph is the planet's death, and it would have it no other way.
