Legio Metalica, the Iron Skulls, hails from the great forge world of Metalica, a grim and smoke-choked planet whose endless manufactories never fall silent. The Legio reflects the character of its home, industrial, unyielding and utterly without sentiment. Where other Legios speak of honour and glory, the Iron Skulls speak of duty and attrition, grinding their enemies to ruin with the same tireless efficiency that Metalica's forges bring to their labours.
The god-engines of the Legio are marked in stark black and bone, their carapaces banded with hazard-striping and adorned with the iron skull that gives the Legio its name. Metalica fields a great many Titans, for its forge world is among the most productive in the segmentum, and it can commit whole maniples of god-engines where other Legios might muster only a handful.
The Princeps of the Iron Skulls are famed for their cold discipline and their willingness to endure. They do not seek the swift and glorious kill but the certain one, advancing methodically behind walls of void shields, absorbing punishment, and returning it tenfold until the enemy is annihilated. Metalica has marched in the Imperium's greatest wars, and wherever it treads, it leaves only slag and silence.
