Legio Gryphonicus, the War Griffons, is among the most storied of all the Titan Legions, a Legio whose battle-honours stretch back to the earliest days of the Imperium and whose god-engines have walked upon a thousand war-torn worlds. Disciplined and relentless, the War Griffons are famed for the ferocity of their advance, marching their Titans forward in implacable battle-lines that no enemy formation can long withstand.
The Legio takes as its emblem the griffon, a beast of pride and predatory grace, and its god-engines stride to war in bold heraldry of crimson and bone-white, their hulls emblazoned with the campaign honours of ten thousand years. The Princeps of Gryphonicus are schooled in a doctrine of aggressive, coordinated warfare, trusting in the interlocking fire of massed void shields and world-breaking weapons to shatter any foe.
Gryphonicus has answered the Imperium's direst summons across the ages, from the reconquest of lost worlds to the defence of forge worlds besieged by xenos and traitor alike. Its maniples have broken Ork Gargants, toppled traitor Titans, and stood unbroken where lesser forces would have fled. To the enemies of Mankind, the sight of the War Griffons advancing through the smoke is a portent of certain doom.
