The Masque of the Silent Shroud is a troupe of mourners and ghosts, a masque devoted to the roles of death, grief and the dead. Where other troupes fill the webway with laughter, the Silent Shroud performs in stillness, its players moving without sound, their holo-suits muted to the ashen greys and bone-whites of the grave. To watch them is to feel the weight of every Aeldari life lost since the fall, a sorrow so vast it silences even the boldest audience.
The masque holds close ties to the great craftworld dead and their spirit-hosts, and its players are often glimpsed where the ghosts of the Aeldari walk. In battle the Silent Shroud strikes like a cold breath from a tomb, its warriors slipping through the enemy unheard until the killing has already begun. There is no cruelty in their slaughter and no joy, only a grave and gentle inevitability, as though they were ushering their victims into a rest long overdue.
The Death Jesters of the Silent Shroud are especially renowned, their grim humour and unerring aim making them the perfect players to preside over the ending of lives. When the masque departs, it leaves behind only silence, and the sense that something sorrowful and sacred has passed.

Order of battle
The Masque of the Silent Shroud field the units of the Harlequins — a detachment from the roster:
Kindred formations
Other Harlequins formations
Masque of the Frozen StarsA troupe of glacial patience and flawless precision, as cold and remote as the void between suns, whose performances unfold with the inevitability of fate itself.
Masque of the Midnight SorrowOne of the darkest of all Harlequin troupes, a masque that dwells upon the tragedy of the Aeldari fall with a raw and terrible intensity, and hunts the servants of Slaanesh without mercy.
