House Vardyk was not lost to the warp nor seduced across an age; it was exiled, cast down by its neighbours for crimes its lords never repented. Bitter and dispossessed, the household fled into the storms of the Eye and returned transformed, its scions swearing dark pacts to become faster, crueller and more cunning than the kin who had shamed them. Vardyk is an Infernal house, but its bound daemons are subtle things of speed and predation rather than raw fury.
The warriors of Vardyk are raiders above all. They despise the grinding battle-line and the honourable duel, preferring the ambush, the flanking rush and the killing stroke delivered from an unexpected quarter. Above every other foe they hunt the loyal households, for nothing pleases a scion of Vardyk more than dragging down a Knight that still keeps faith with the Emperor, defacing its heraldry and claiming its wreck as a trophy.
Vardyk marches to war as a swift and savage host of War Dogs and lighter engines, its Dreadblades ranging far ahead of any battle-line. When it strikes, it strikes to maim and to mock, and when the Imperium marshals its strength to answer, the household is already gone, melting back into the warp with its trophies in tow.

The House Vardyk field the units of the Chaos Knights — a detachment from the roster:
Kindred formations
Other Chaos Knights formations
House HerpetraxHouse Herpetrax is among the most feared of the Iconoclast households, a fallen lineage that renounced not only the Emperor but the Dark Gods as well, worshipping nothing but the annihilation it brings.
House LucarisHouse Lucaris is a wholly damned Infernal household whose god-machines have become reliquaries of the warp, each war-suit bound to a bellowing daemon that shares its pilot's flesh and fury.
