Chaos Marauders

Hardy northern tribesmen pledged to the Dark Gods, hurling their savage strength against the civilised south for the promise of plunder and divine favour.

Chaos Marauders are the raw human material of the northern hordes: Norse, Kurgan, and Hung tribesmen bred in a land so cruel that survival itself is a kind of worship. They wear little armour and carry axe, flail, and shield, trusting to corded muscle, casual ferocity, and the certainty that the gods reward the bold. Every marauder bears the marks of his faith, brands, ritual scars, crude tattoos, and here and there a mutation worn with fierce pride as proof of divine notice. They come south in their thousands whenever a warlord or Everchosen raises the standard, drawn by the promise of plunder, slaughter, and the first rung on the long ladder toward the black plate of a Chaos Warrior. Most will die nameless in the mud of some southern field. A rare few will be noticed by the Powers, and rise. That gambler's hope, more than any warlord's command, is what truly drives the marauder tribes to war.
