The Cygor is a strange and dreadful cousin of the Ghorgon, a towering one-eyed brute whose single great eye sees not the world of flesh but the world of magic. To the Cygor, wizards and priests blaze like torches in the dark, and it hungers above all for the winds of magic bound up in their souls, believing, in whatever passes for its dim and echoing mind, that to devour a spellcaster is to swallow a piece of the gods. In battle it lurches after the brightest such light it can sense, tearing boulders from the earth and hurling them across the field with brute accuracy to smash the wizard and everything sheltering near. Its very presence gnaws at sorcery, for the beast drinks the ambient magic around it, leaving spells to gutter and fail. Blind to banners and heedless of the herd's plan, the Cygor pursues its own ravenous theology through the battle, and the learned and the gifted have most to fear when its baleful eye swings their way.
