Tuskgor Chariot

A rough-hewn chariot of lashed wood and bone drawn by furious tuskgors, crewed by bestigors who ride it howling into the foe.

The Tuskgor Chariot is the beastmen's one concession to machinery, though it is a crude and half-living thing beside the war-engines of men. Lashed together from timber, hide, and the bones of fallen prey, it is hauled by a pair of tuskgors, squat boar-like beasts of the deep forest, all bristle and goring tusk and evil temper, and crewed by bestigors who lash the animals into a headlong charge. There is no finesse to its use. The herd points it at the enemy line and the tuskgors do the rest, driving the whole savage contraption into shields and spears with bone-splintering force. The impact scatters ranks, the beasts gore and trample, and the crew hack down from the platform with brutal cleavers before leaping off to join the slaughter on foot. Chariots that survive are dragged back into the trees and patched with fresh bone for the next raid. To hear the tuskgors squealing in the dark is to know the herd has already chosen its road.
