The Greatswords are the elite infantry of the Empire of Man, veteran soldiers who wield massive two-handed blades and serve as the personal guard of the Elector Counts. Each is a hardened warrior drawn from the ranks of the state troops, having proven his courage and loyalty over many campaigns before being granted the honour of joining a Greatsword regiment.
Clad in heavy armour and ostentatious plumed helms, Greatswords form an unbreakable core around which lesser troops rally. Their great blades can cleave through armour, shield, and flesh in a single stroke, cutting down knights and monsters alike. Where the line threatens to falter, the Greatswords hold, for they are sworn never to retreat while their lord's banner still flies.
